Why haven't you been blogging?

Notable Exceptions was asked recently, "Why haven't you been blogging?"
And we are here to say that... well, we've been lazy (about blogging, anyway).

We had a very busy summer with a 6-week tour down through Oregon, California, Nevada, and then back up the coast for a ferry jaunt to Victoria, BC for yet another show! The California/Nevada portion was with Lauralee Northcott making up the trio of Horse Crazy Cowgirl Band. Tons of fun, as our last show of the tour was in Port Townsend with Miss Devon and the Outlaw and Kristyn Harris! Wow!  We also met a wonderful and extremely talented 16-year-old fiddler named Kate Powers. We will be looking her up again, for sure!

All the animals are just fine. Sir Taffy turned 19 this summer and is still going strong. Wyatt Ann has only been to one agility trial this year, but we hope to find something in the Southwest now that we've registered her for NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council).

Speaking of the Southwest, we are headed there again this year for a snowbird tour where we will be joined in Arizona for part of it by Lauralee. We will also be seeing her in Albuquerque in November for the WMA Festival and Awards show. BOTH of our bands (Horse Crazy Cowgirl Band and Notable Exceptions) are on the final ballot for 2016 Group of the Year! We are so honored and excited.

Wyatt Ann's Pmail Blog will resume as soon as we are on the road again. Stay tuned!

On the Road: Four Weeks and Counting...

There’s nothing like a road trip!  Notable Exceptions  and  Horse Crazy Cowgirl Band  have embarked on a 4-month winter tour of America’s great Southwest.

The drive has already been exciting, with howling wind storms and even a dusting of snow overnight in Gallup, NM.

We were thrilled to gather again in Albuquerque with friends at the Western Music Association’s annual Convention and Awards.  The trio and the duo both came away with some fine recognition; Horse Crazy Cowgirl Band was named the WMA Group of the Year, and Notable Exceptions earned the title of WMA Harmony Duo of the Year.  There was plenty of music-making, onstage and in late-night jams, and it was all a great thrill.

The glamour of life on the road wouldn’t be complete without a few detours and delays for mechanical repairs.  Wyatt the Wonder Dog’s week in Dallas led to some pretty miserable scratching and itching, but she seems to be on the road to recovery.  The duo is on the move again, heading toward southern New Mexico.

There is plenty more ahead of us, and this tour will continue to give all of us tremendous fun.  Stick around.  This is gonna be grand!

Should Blog Posts be Numbered? (1.3)

Since we are new at this thing, we are both wondering if we should be numbering the posts so that they can be read in order. Of course, it might not actually matter in what order you read them.

The news today is that Wyatt Ann started her first website! Check it out: WyattAnn.weebly.com

Washington State Fairs Association

Last weekend in Pasco, WA, we played a fun showcase for the Fairs Assoc. If you find yourself in a position to hire us for a Fair, you'll want to talk with Karen Quest of Giddyup Productions. She is now handling all of our Fair bookings.

Notable First Blog Post

We are prepping the "Stagecoach" for our southwest winter tour, and even the cats are getting excited! Sir Taffy has dressed in his finest.

Wyatt would like to pack her Agility ribbons, but her toys already take up all of her space.
